Quote for Today...

"The Central Bank is an institution of the most deadly hostility existing against the principles and form of our Constitution...if the American people allow private banks to control the issuance of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all their property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."

---Thomas Jefferson---

Well if that wasn't prophetic, I don't know what is.

Thomas Jefferson continues to impress as to how brilliant he was and how much he understood of the way government and economies work.

I wish there was some way we could bring him back or someone who became impassioned enough to run for office in this country with his great bank of knowledge.

Thanks for posting this.

He is UNQUESTIONABLY a genius FOR HIS TIME. One of the greatest thinkers and political minds of our HISTORY.
But all of his great quotes that look so relevant today, are all conjecture and assumptions at a time none of these things existed. So of course he has the potential to be correct if any system he commented on was abused, or misused, or misguided. I am pretty sure that you could make a profound statement right now and sometime over the next 100-200 years it would look like you really really knew what you were talking about.

@political disgust....you're probably right....My recent discussions with my friends regarding Twinkies as Cat 5 Hurricane Resistant bricks will probably immortalize me--I just hope the future has a sense of humor. Dark humor.
