Dangerous. I know these views are prevalent in many societies not just Jamaica, but for the Prime Minister to promote homophobia and then clumsily try to squirm his way around it with a pile of words that could be described as nothing other than bullshit is revealing.

The worst thing is - as a Nigerian - that our leaders see this as a good thing. They are the proud vanguard of morality, standing against the decadent white man who, um, was the one who originally gave them this morality...

The self confidence and arrogance in his ignorance would be unbelievable if we had not just lived through 8 years of W's rock solid ignorance. Or in his case - stupidity. Ignorance can be cured with knowledge, stupidity - well, Lord help us all, especially with these bozos in charge.
That guy will have a good job for life. That's the thing about disasters like war, genocide, etc. One cannot just say sorry and walk away. The resulting problems of such seriousoy failed policies last hundreds of years.
In the U.S., I don't think that anyone would look at him for a second. So he'd probably turn to torture(if he had law degree).
I guess this is what happens when religion is more of a priority than education.
